Engineers – us analytical, mathematical, process minded part of society – have long been lovingly slandered as boring and unimaginative.
I “grew up” in my profession under the miss impression that engineering was the application of science. What “ologies” studies, engineers use.
What that definition misses is …before anything can be made, it has to first be imagined. We couldn’t drive a car if someone hadn’t first imagined it. We couldn’t fly across the world or cross broad rivers if someone hadn’t first imagined it. We wouldn’t have heat or water or sanitation in our homes if someone first hadn’t imagined it and THEN applied the science to make it real.
If you think engineers are boring…you’re not paying attention.
